Natural Vitamins or Synthetic?
People often ask if natural vitamins work better than synthetic ingredients. The answer is yes and no.
Synthetic vitamins are produced in laboratories. Natural vitamins are derived from food sources. Under controlled conditions synthetic vitamins work just like the natural ingredients.
But we dont live in a perfect world.
For example, studies have shown that synthetic vitamin E will actually block natural vitamin E activity at the cellular level. Synthetic beta carotene is adversely affected by synthetic food dyes, which are common in one-a day vitamin preparations. Yellow dye also decreases vitamin B-6 activity.
Vitamins derived from natural sources contain nutrients that are not available from synthetics. Dunaliella salina algae is not only an effective form of Beta Carotene but also includes the cancer fighters Alpha Carotene, Cryptoxanthin, Zeaxanthin, Lutein and Lycopene.
Synthetic vitamins replicate only one of perhaps dozens of beneficial nutrients. Its somewhat like imitating one ingredient that is contained in an apple. You miss all of the related nutrients that work synergistically. Our bodies need a broad base of natural supplements for optimum health.
Most manufacturers look for the cheapest way to produce their products. Synthetics and chemicals are less expensive, are much easier to process and have a longer shelf life than natural vitamins.
Are Vitamin Supplements really necessary?
You’ve probably heard the comment, maybe even from your doctor, Vitamins will just give you expensive urine.” The latest scientific research proves otherwise. Natural vitamin formulas, herbs and other natural remedies can cure you as well as or better than many prescription drugs…without the negative side effects.
We now have a substantial body of data showing that if everyone took a few supplements every day, they could significantly lower their risk of a multitude of serious diseases, said David Heber, M.D., Ph.D., of the Center for Human Nutrition at the University of California, Los Angeles.
“I get what I need from food.”
We have been told for years that we can get all the vitamins and minerals we need if we eat a balanced diet. Not by a long shot.
More than 90% of Americans don’t eat the recommended daily servings of fruit and vegetables. And even if we try our best to eat more vegetables, the ones we purchase in the produce department don’t have the vitamins and minerals that they had 40 or 50 years ago.
In Department of Agriculture studies of 50,000 persons performed in the 1980’s, not one person was getting the RDA of the 10 essential vitamins. And in many cases the RDA is insufficient for optimum health.
How do I know what vitamins to take?
Good question. How can we be sure we are making the right choices when choosing nutrition supplements. Advertisers spend millions trying to convince us that their vitamins are the best on the market.
What can we believe and to whom can we go to for advice? Can we go to our doctor? Most medical schools provide less than 3 hours education in nutrition.
Let The Buyer Beware
You need a magnifying glass to read the ingredients on the label. In choosing nutritional supplements it is truly e caveat emptor, let the buyer beware. There is no regulation in the vitamin industry and there are legions of unscrupulous vendors try to get your hard earned money.
Some Vitamins Are Hazardous To Your Health
Most people are not aware that many vitamins, including some of the highly advertised name brands, are processed at high temperatures, contain petroleum derived chemical solvents, such as ethyl cellulose and are coated with methylene chloride, a carcinogenic material.
According to Dr. Zoltan P. Rona, M.D., Although most healthy people will have no obvious side effects from ingesting small amounts of toxins found in cheap vitamins, the long term consequences of continuous, daily intakes are potentially dangerous. Over 7% of the population displays sensitivity to these chemicals. Dr. Rona says that allergic reactions include fatigue, memory loss, depression and insomnia.
A One A Day Vitamin Doesn’t Cut It.
Research has been done on some of the national brand vitamins including Centrum and Centrum Silver. To put it plainly their formulas are cheap. Not just inexpensive…but cheap. They have sub-optimal levels of antioxidants, which are so important for fighting free radicals and building up your immune system to fight off heart disease and cancer.
But the problem isnt just the important missing ingredients. It is the chemicals that shouldnt be there. Take Centrum Silver as an example. Centrums ingredients are all synthetic and include seven different chemicals, solvents or dyes.
What Should I Look For?
Number one is to choose a manufacturer you can trust. Many companies are more interested in shelf life than human life. Stick with the natural supplements and avoid the chemicals. A complete all natural formula which includes all the antioxidants you need for heart health, and no harmful chemicals, will run you about $1.30 to 1.50 per day depending on the ingredients. That’s about the price of a cup of coffee.

Autism, ADD, ADHA - Vaccine Related

According to the most recent estimates by the CDC, about 1 in 150 children in the US suffers from an autistic disorder. Recent studies have shown that exposure to mercury in childhood vaccines, not only causes autism but can also result in immune, sensory, neurological, motor, and behavioral dysfunctions similar to traits associated with autism.

Thimerosal is a vaccine preservative that was developed in the 1930s by Eli Lilly, and has been regularly used in vaccines ever since. It contains 49.5% mercury. The amount of mercury considered safe for adults, by the EPA is 0.1 microgram per kilogram of weight.

As a neurotoxin, thimerosal, has been linked to the depletion of the protective anti-oxidant, glutathione, which helps rid the body of mercury. People with autism seem to be more susceptible to this effect and most have low levels of glutathione. Therefore, their bodies have difficulty excreting mercury.

In 1999, many drug companies claimed they were reducing the amount of thimerosal in vaccines. Some companies even provided product inserts that claimed that only a trace amount of mercury still existed in the final product. Others claimed to be producing vaccines that were completely mercury-free.

A few months ago the group, Health Advocacy in the Public Interest (HAPI), sent four separate vials of different vaccines to be tested for mercury content by Doctor’s Data, an independent lab, which specializes in heavy metal testing.

The testing revealed that all four of the vials contained mercury, despite the claim by 2 companies that their vaccines were completely mercury-free. According to HAPI, all four vaccines also contained aluminum which greatly increases the toxicity of mercury in causing neuronal death in the brain.

In fact, during further investigation of the matter, HAPI discovered that mercury-based thimerosal was still being used to produce most vaccines. The drug makers claimed that after production, they use a process to filter the preservative out of the final vaccines.

However, Scientist, Boyd Haley, Phd, who is the Chemistry Department Chair at the University of Kentucky, told HAPI that its not possible to filter out all of the thimerosal because mercury binds to the antigenic protein in the vaccine and therefore, cannot be completely filtered out 100%.

We are not going to see a drastic decline in autism due to the fact that we have been misled about when thimerosal was actually eliminated from vaccines. Because the FDA has never ordered drug makers to recall all the vaccines previously manufactured and shipped to health care providers, to this very day, several different mercury-containing vaccines remain in the inventories of health care facilities, and some have an expiration date as late as September, 2005.

In addition, pregnant women and their unborn infants, are still being injected with thimerosal in flu vaccines, and a shot to combat the RH negative factor. The FDA and CDC have ignored the tremendous amount of scientific evidence of injury from these vaccines discovered by all the various studies, and have continued to recommend flu vaccines for pregnant women and certain children.

Most flu vaccines recommended for pregnant women contain 25 micrograms of mercury. Which means a fetus, through the vaccination of its mother, receives a dose of mercury that exceeds the Federal guidelines by several hundred-fold.

Experts Weigh In

To what degree of scientific certainty can the epidemic of autism be blamed on mercury in childhood vaccines? David Ayoub, MD, answered this question for Independent Media TV, I can state that the certainty of the science supporting mercury as a major cause of autism is probably more overpowering than the science behind any other disease process that I studied dating back to medical school, he said.

In 2002, the research team of David and Mark Geier, released a study based on tens of millions of doses of vaccines given to children in the US during the 1990s, that presented the first epidemiologic evidence that associated the increase in thimerosal from vaccines with neurodevelopmental disorders.

Specifically, the Geiers analysis of the Federal government’s Vaccine Adverse Events Reporting System (VAERS) database showed statistical increases in the incidence rate of autism, mental retardation, and speech disorders in children receiving thimerosal-containing diphtheria, tetanus, and acellular pertussis (DTaP) vaccines, when compared with those who received thimerosal-free DTaP vaccines. The VAERS database has only been maintained by the CDC since 1990.

According to the Geiers, the usual course of DTaP vaccine consists of primary immunizations administered at 2, 4, and 6 months, followed up by booster doses at 18 months and at 5 years.

Using the database, the Geiers determined that there were a total of 6575 adverse reaction reports after thimerosal-vaccines, compared to only 1516 adverse reactions reported after thimerosal-free vaccines.

Lisa Blakemore-Brown, a Psychologist in the UK, also maintains that thimerosal is the cause of autism, and suspects it is also the culprit involved in a wide variety of other health problems showing up in children these days.

“The epidemic of health and developmental problems in so called advanced countries is now undeniable,” Blakemore reports, “1 in 10 children suffer from gastrointestinal disorders, 1 in 4 have asthma.”

According to Blakemore, the current autism epidemic did not occur earlier because children “were given single vaccines with single amounts of mercury, she says, but with the introduction of triple vaccines the amount of mercury contained within the preservative was multiplied and the cumulative effects are only just now being discovered by the public,” she adds.

Thimerosal is now also being blamed for Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD) and Attention Deficit Disorder with Hyperactivity (ADHD), which affect millions of children and their families. Currently statistics suggest that as many as 10% of the school-aged children have ADD and another 20% exhibit symptoms of ADHD.

Since they believe vaccines may have caused these disorders, many parents have come to resent the fact that the pharmaceutical industry is now raking in huge profits from the sale of drugs to treat these disorders by the same drug companies that caused the injury in the first place.

Number Of Vaccines Too High

The number of vaccinations given to children before the age 2, has nearly tripled since 1988, according the CDC, which currently recommends vaccination against 12 diseases. Because some vaccines must be given more than once, children get as many as 23 shots by the age of 2.

Under the CDC immunization schedule, here are the vaccines recommended for children before two years of age.

Birth-6 months: Hepatitis B: 2 doses; Diphtheria, Pertussis (DPT), Tetanus: 3 doses; Haemophilus influenzae type B (Hib): 3 doses; Inactivated poliovirus: 2 doses; Measles, mumps, rubella (MMR): not recommended; Varicella: not recommended; Pneumococcal conjugate: 3 doses. Total 13 doses

12-24 months: Hepatitis B: 1 dose; Diphtheria, Pertussis (DPT), Tetanus: 1 dose; Haemophilus influenzae type B (Hib): 1 dose; Inactivated poliovirus: 1 dose; Measles, mumps, rubella (MMR): 1 dose; Varicella: 1 dose; Pneumococcal conjugate: 1 dose; Pneumococcal polysaccharide*: 1 dose; and Influenza: 1 dose

Hepatitis A*: 1 dose; Total 10 doses

* Vaccines recommended in selected states and regions and for certain high-risk groups.

The worst example of an unnecessary vaccine being sold to boost drug company profits, is the injection of Hepatitis B into newborns to an adult lifestyle disease contracted through sex and sharing needles with drug addicts. Plain and simple, the industory needed a market for a new vaccine so they got together with their cronies in the FDA and CDC and hatched a scheme to target nations infants using the Federal immunization program.

Prior to the introduction of the vaccine, Hepatitis B among children was almost unheard of. According to the Guide to Clinical Preventive Services, in 1986, there were only 279 cases reported in children under the age of 14.

Even in adults, the incidence rate of Hepatitis B has always been low. In 1991, for instance, there were only 18,003 cases within a total population of approximately 248 million people.

Dr Jay Gordon is a pediatrician who was named CBS TV’s Medical Consultant for Children’s programming and also worked for 5 years on ABC, as the on-air medical correspondent. He has appeared on “Good Morning America” to discuss vaccinations.

On his website, Gordon says, “I also don’t like the financial ties that vaccine researchers have to the manufacturers because some of these same experts help make the official decisions about which shots will be approved and/or required.”

He is concerned about the needless vaccines being given to children. The diseases against which we vaccinate used to be much more common, Gordon says, but we are now down to an average of one case of diphtheria (the “D” of the DPT) per year in the US, a few thousand cases of Pertussis (”P”), and 30 or so cases of Tetanus each year, he explains.

We have not had a case of “wild” polio in America since 1979 and the entire Western Hemisphere has been free of the disease for some years, Gordon adds. He claims it’s highly unlikely that a young child would contract hepatitis B; there are only a few dozen cases of tetanus in this country each year.

“In my opinion, we vaccinate in an unscientific and potentially dangerous way,” Gordon says. He believes it would be better to vaccinate children later and slower, The expedient and economically superior method, doesn’t serve our babies well, he warns.

In my day, we got a few vaccines. And my children (now 33 & 36) got a few during their school years. Due to the fact that no one from those two generations ever got the 3 dozen vaccines currently mandated, one question keep rolling around in my mind. If three dozen vaccines are really necessary to fight off these highly-contagious diseases, in the 54 years that Ive been on this earth, why have I never met a single unvaccinated person who caught one?

This article provides examples illustrating the advantages of a collaborative approach to diversity work in organizations over the expert approach that is more common in the field.
If you are trying to develop a program to address the issue of diversity in your organization, you will likely seek help from a diversity expert. I can tell you from my experience as a consultant, if your organization puts out a Request for Proposals around diversity, you will quickly receive a number of proposals from individuals and organizations all touting their expertise in the area of diversity consulting and training.

As you evaluate these consultants and trainers, however, I urge you to distinguish between their expertisethe consultants knowledge, skills, and experienceand whether or not they view their role as an expert consultant.

A story from my own consulting practice will illustrate the difference.

Case Example I was part of a team of consultants under contract with a 200-employee nonprofit service agency. The leadership of this organization was very committed to honoring diversity and invested a lot of money and time into developing a comprehensive diversity program. We, the consultants, were brought in as experts to help. We designed and implemented a substantial diversity project, including a needs assessment and the development of an organization-wide diversity council. Both the consulting team and the client were pleased with the results of the project. The Council helped make diversity an important part of the life of the organization at every level, and it still operates today.

However, the project was not nearly as effective as it could have been. When we did the needs assessment, we uncovered important organizational issues (hierarchical conflict, issues around delegation of authority) that were clearly connected to the diversity issues we were documenting, but they were, in fact, not diversity issues themselves. As such, the client asked us to leave those issues out. As experts, we obliged, but to the detriment of the effectiveness of the organization (those issues did not go away).

As we got into the implementation phase, our expert recommendations included the development of a strategic plan. Fortunately, we were experts in strategic planning, so we brought them through it step by step. When the client group was slow to complete their activities and consistently failed to follow through on promises, we stayed in our expert roleby actually finishing the plan for them. With the best of intentions, we made some short-term progress, but at the expense of long-term effectiveness.

An alternative to the expert consulting role is what Peter Block and others call the collaborative consulting role. When a consultant works in collaborative role, he still brings his expertise and specialized knowledge, but all steps of the consulting process, from assessment through implementation, involve collaboration between consultant and client. In the case described above, had we been in a collaborative role, we would have pushed back at the client when they shied away from addressing the conflict and authority issues. It still would have been their decision as to whether or not to address them, but our half of that partnership would require us to support them in going there. As for the underperforming planners, we would have sat down with the client to determine the source of the problem and co-designed a program to increase performance. That may not look like diversity work, but it would have had a direct impact on the success of the diversity work at hand.

So, what should you expect when working with more collaborative diversity consultants?

They wont always talk about diversity. An Ear, Nose, and Throat specialist still knows about your brain, heart, and lungs (and everything else she learned in medical school), and she will bring in that knowledge when it becomes relevant. The same is true in organizations. It is useful to treat diversity as a separate issue, but it will never be completely independent from other organizational issues like conflict resolution, organizational structure, roles and responsibilities, systems and processes, etc. When the diversity consultant takes you in those directions (where they link to diversity), go with him.

They will push you. If diversity were easy, you wouldnt need a consultant. It requires looking at tough issuesinequities in your organization, deeply held values and attitudes, conversations that are difficult to work throughand as a leader, you will need to show your employees that you can take the hard road when necessary. A good consultant will support as she pushes, but a consultant that does not push you at all will rarely get the results you are looking for.

They wont have all the answers (at least they wont give them to you). If you want a diversity consultant to do an assessment and then provide a list of specific recommendations about what you should do next, I know you can find several that will oblige. But be careful what you wish for. When the consultant tells you what to do, it robs you of the power to create your own organization. I know it sounds easier, but it often leads to low employee buy-in of the solution and chronic implementation delays. This is your organization, and you are smart enough to solve your own problems and make your own decisions. A good diversity consultant will help you, but he will not do it for you.

Conclusion In the end, a collaborative diversity-consulting project achieves the same goals that management consultants generally strive towards: empowering people and organizations to solve their own problems. By working collaboratively with the client to address the challenges and opportunities of diversity work in their organization, we model the kind of relationship we are trying to generate in a diverse workplace: one based on respect and value of the different power, knowledge, experience, and skills that each individual brings. So consider carefully both your approach to this work and the consultantsand beware of the expert. The success of your diversity initiative (and maybe your organization) depends on it.

BY MIDWEEK, HE was rushing off to Costco to stock up on fruit juice, bottled water, peanut butter, canned tuna and extra food for my cats Monster, Monkey and Spike. He also picked up a first-aid kit, six rolls of duct tape and a bulk package of plastic wrap to seal his windows. The biggest problem was that I felt helpless, he says, completely powerless over the situation. The health-conscious 46-year-old even found himself chomping pizza and sweets, figuring a few treats would help him forget about the situation for a while.

And so it went for millions of Americans. The recent barrage of bad newsnukes in North Korea, snipers in Maryland, a failing economy, an imminent war, a threat of domestic terrorhas left this privileged nation feeling unusually vulnerable and uncharacteristically anxious. Gas masks and biohazard suits are selling as briskly as duct tape and plastic sheeting. Winter vacations are on hold. Psychotherapists are working overtime. And even people who soldiered on after 9-11 are now blinking. Thirty-five-year-old Kateria Niambi, a lifelong Brooklynite who works as a marketing director in lower Manhattan, never thought of leaving New York during the grim fall of 2001. Yet she recently bought a house in suburban New Jersey and now plans to pack up her two daughters and move. It was like, Where can I go that my kids will be safe? she says.

HELPLESSNESS AND HEALTH

Iraqi civilians are no doubt asking the same question. Israelis and Palestinians have asked it for decades. And though Americas current worries may seem unprecedented, the current situation has nothing on the 1918 flu pandemic or the Cuban missile crisis. Yet none of that makes living with fear any easier. As Drs. Afton Hassett and Leonard Sigal of New Jerseys Robert Wood Johnson Medical School wrote recently, were living in a chronic heightened state of alertness and … helplessness, prompted by a poorly defined … danger that could strike at any time in any form without warning. Such feelings can be as unhealthy as they are unpleasant, impairing immunity, interrupting sleep and exacerbating everything from acne to ulcers. The psychological state of fear affects us biologically, says Los Angeles psychiatrist Carole Lieberman. People who are anxious drink and eat more. They have more accidents. Theyre more likely to get colds or suffer heart attacks. In short, as University of Michigan neuroscientist Stephen Maren puts it, a brain system designed to keep us from getting eaten is now eating away at us.

History Helped Shape The Future of Remote Viewing.Jonina Dourif

History Helped Shape The Future of Remote Viewing.

The public perception of Remote Viewing should not be dictated by opportunistic story tellers but the history needs to be recorded by the factual events and the actual people. It all began between the years of 1982 and 1983 while a prominent psychic who was working with a world-renowned physicist realized a breakthrough discovery in psychic phenomenon. The discovery was the existence of a set of protocols which could produce accurate psychically derived data on a consistent basis using only a trained mind and a stack of plain white paper. The psychic research project was initially funded by the CIA and then later picked up by the DIA. This was the military’s competitive response to the alleged Soviet psychic warfare program during the cold war. Even though there was a hope for psychic performance, nobody really expected the results that were discovered and put into motion. The most astounding fact was that they (we) had proven that this new psychic technique could be taught like a language and anyone could learn it.

This was the beginning of something very substantial - a technology that turned psychically derived data from a happenstance gift into a skill that anyone could learn. And just like any other skill, personal performance improves with practice. For the first time in human history, this not only proved the existence of the sixth sense but forever changed what was possible to achieve with the human mind. And for those that actually practiced and mastered this new skill, they foresaw the opening of a completely new era of consciousness, a place where only a few would feel comfortable with the knowledge and even fewer would want to tread.

The discoverers named this new technology Coordinate Remote Viewing (CRV) and kept it a tightly held secret throughout the eighties. There were only five people initially trained and only two out of the five served in the Defense Intelligence Agency’s (DIA) newly formed Remote Viewing unit. The other three left and did not continue to practice their new learned skill. However, two officers who were trained CRVers trained others and for a short time they enjoyed a working environment where CRV could strut its stuff - but it didn’t last long. The coming of Desert Storm and the rotating fabric of the institutional umbrella of government caused this very curious top secret unit to become a revolving door where people were passed off for lack of assignments or to wait out their retirements.

By 1995 the unit had passed through the hands of a number of military and civilian administrators who, either for ego or just sheer ignorance, turned it into a psychic circus. They brought in tarot card readers and channelers to work with only one partially trained remote viewer who was left. Secretaries were being solicited to channel and street witches were performing readings. It’s no wonder that this group lost its government funding and was picked back up as a research program by the CIA in the early nineties. This was the sketchy group that two civilian researchers were sent to evaluate and finally served in putting a final kibosh to with their “1995 CIA/AIR Report.” It’s surprising that the report was as positive as it was considering there were no remote viewers left. But they claimed that they were evaluating “remote viewing” and that “the program” had spanned throughout a twenty four year period of time. Unbeknownst to the two researchers, they had no access to the DIA’s RV operational unit which had been utilizing the phenomenal breakthrough discovery for almost a decade.

In 1995, the CIA hired the most powerful publicity agency in the country to announce its grand declassification of their “Remote Viewing program”. The reason they declassified their program at this time was because PSI TECH had launched a book deal and was about to go public with its Technology in a big way.

The CIA set up several interviews on national TV news shows and brought out one of their natural psychics and two researchers to tell the public that such an experimental psychic spy program did exist BUT that it could not be taught to others or scientifically proven. The CIA’s declassification campaign was clever in that it used just enough truth wrapped around several mistruths and omitted the pivotal breakthrough discovery that ANYONE could be taught to do this.

PSI TECH had already been promulgating Remote Viewing information to the public since 1991 so the avid PSI seekers and special interest groups had already been privy to real information about “the Remote Viewing Operational Unit” from where PSI TECH had sprung. The 1995 CIA Campaign publicized the declassification of only “their” specific Remote Viewing research program. They did not address or mention the DIA’s decade of the RV operational unit, nor PSI TECH’s earlier release of this information. The CIA’s Grand Publicity Campaign served only to confuse the issues and diminish the veracity of PSI TECH’s mission. The CIA spin doctors old maneuver of trickery by omission was successful and they knew that good old competitive capitalism would finish the job for them.

During the resulting flurry of media attention, PSI TECH stood firmly behind its pre-released information. The stories raged and claims of people claiming to be “military remote viewers” began sprouting up like weeds everywhere. It became a marketing feeding frenzy and even people involved in the earlier research programs who have never done a formal remote viewing session, emerged as so-called “Expert Remote Viewers.” Some of the periodic participants (and their friends) from the late days of the DIA’s operational unit’s revolving door became “psychic warriors” by writing books and doing seminars, and even the civilian administrators who were never trained cashed in by writing books and making creative remote viewing claims.

Now, there are annual conferences on the subject of Remote Viewing which bear little to no semblance of the breakthrough discovery of the technology. They present an array of psychics, channelers, spoon benders, dowsers, spiritual healers, astronauts, psychic researchers, UFOers, hypnotists, and former military administrators - all claiming to be “remote viewers” or “remote viewing experts.” New phantom methods of RV have sprung up from unheard of schools and sources nobody ever heard of, represented as professionals at “the Remote Viewing Conferences”.

The few of us who really practice this technology know its veracity, its pitfalls and its potential but we cannot constantly be on the campaign trail or we would have little time left to work as professional TRVers. Only 5 years ago the term ‘remote viewing’ brought up about 6 entries in internet search engines but today on Google 807,000 entries come up under ‘Remote Viewing.’ Amazing!

The question no longer is how many people will have access to this technology but rather how many people will be able to access ‘real’ training amid the swirling storms of deception and confusion. Already the prerequisite has become that a person have an intense desire to investigate by drudging through the weeds or they need to already be psychic or just plain lucky. One thing is for certain. After a person has been trained at PSI TECH, there is no longer a question what is myth, what is muddle and what is sheer madness.

PSI TECH was founded by one of the five people who was originally trained by the discoverer. This individual was transferred out of the DIA’s RV unit in 1988. In 1989 while still on active duty in another department, he, along with a two star general, formed a private corporation utilizing Coordinate Remote Viewing, (which was still classified a top secret technology) as its main product. However, only the trained Remote Viewers were hired and worked for PSI TECH. One of the company’s first projects was to locate Saddam’s hidden biological weapons during Desert Storm.

In 1991, the founder retired from the military and PSI TECH was on its own as a private corporation whose goal was the same as the General who had helped usher it out the military. As the Chairman of this visionary new company, he felt that “it was mankind’s birthright to have access to this technology” and thus, the mission of PSI TECH was born; “To put this technology into as many hands as possible.” Coordinate Remote Viewing (CRV) was renamed Technical Remote Viewing (TRV) and in 1991 PSI TECH barged into the corporate sector with a new product that only a few individuals had ever heard of and even fewer could perform. PSI TECH was faced with the new reality of civilian commerce which resembled a war with unmarked enemies and no structure or rules. Operating a corporation was very different than operating in the military.

We have come a long way since those early days in the military, and we continue to forge ahead like the pioneers we need to be. TRV is real and it works. For the future of mankind it will play a role as significant as the invention of fire, changing the very face of consciousness. After a decade of real world experience training countless numbers of individuals via live classroom trainings and self-study videos, PSI TECH’s new third generation TRV training technology has been merged with the power of the internet. Now, anyone who really wants to install this skill into their mind can do so, quickly and easily, anywhere and at any time. Who will be the pilgrim souls to pick up and carry the torch?

A professional remote viewer, Jonina (Joni) Dourif was one of the first civilians trained in this formerly Top Secret technology. Joni was asked to commercialize PSI TECH and Technical Remote Viewing for the civilian sector in 1993. In 1999, the company’s founder retired and Joni took over the helm as President. She continues to lead PSI TECH into the future on the cutting edge of PSI and mind technology.

The Colour of Electrons and the CCDCharles Douglas Wehner

The world of physics is a strange world indeed.

At the end of the nineteenth century it was found that a negatively charged metal plate would discharge when illuminated, but a positively charged one would not.

Then it was found by some researchers that NO metal plate would discharge.

Other researchers found that red light had no effect, but blue discharged the plate.

The “photoelectric effect” was a mess.

Max Planck discovered that light consisted of particles. And each particle (or quantum) had an energy that could be defined as Joules.

The science was very simple. Take the frequency of that light particle, multiply by Planck’s constant, and you find how many Joules of energy are in that particle.

You could even pretend that this light particle collided with an electric particle - the electron. If so, it would transfer its energy to that electron in just the same way as the chemistry of a battery energises electrons.

So we could define the near infra-red as 1.7 electron volts, and at the other end of the spectrum ultra-violet begins at 3.2.

For this he got the Nobel prize.

With the electron-voltages of light being now defined, Einstein decided to tackle the problem of the metal plate. Why was it that only NEGATIVE electricity would be discharged? Because there is only one kind of “charge-carrier”. Or so it seemed at the time.

Why did some researchers find that NO metal plate would discharge? Because the voltages are LOW. Even the slightest film of grease or dirt could INSULATE against less than 3.2 volts.

And why did blue light work when red did not? The answer lay in Planck’s electron voltages.

Einstein discovered that the effect varied with the TYPE of metal used for that plate. Each element, sodium, potassium, iron, copper, the noble metals such as platinum &c., had a unique voltage.

That voltage represented the energy that had to be present in the light in order to free the electrons.

That voltage became known as the WORK FUNCTION.

Knowing this, scientists began to research the forces that hold atoms together. In the technical literature, Einstein’s name was cited so often that the Nobel Prize Committee could not ignore it.

So Einstein won the Nobel Prize.

It is true that further researches modified the simple model that scientists had used. For example, the particle model of Planck suggested that an ultra-violet “PHOTON” could travel for thousands of millions of years through space, retaining its 3.2 eV energy - and NEVER become two photons at 1.6 eV each.

This is the LAW OF CONSERVATION OF MATTER.

But after that huge journey, it needs only for that photon to hit a suitable crystal and it does indeed divide. You get TWO photons for the price of ONE. This is only possible if the photon consists of NOTHING.

So the wave model of light began to supervene. Waves consist of nothing but a pattern. And questions were asked as to whether there is a SUBSTANCE in which the waves are formed. Does space consist of aether?

In some of my work I have reintroduced the concept of aether, but not as a SUBSTANCE. To me, there is a need for a grid of lines in space, for navigation. As on a map there is latitude and longitude (which are not substances), so in space we need a kind of latitude, longitude and altitude. Without that we get lost.

But the question of whether light is particles or waves was never resolved. Sometimes it behaves as one, and sometimes as the other.

Again, the concept that there is only one kind of charge-carrier has been overthrown. In solids there can be positive, negative or both.

A conductor conducts both charge-carriers. A vacuum conducts only the negative ones. So a vacuum is an N-TYPE SEMICONDUCTOR.

The discovery of semiconductors led to huge advances in the field of electronics. There are P-TYPE as well as N-TYPE semiconductors, and a remarkable symmetry of behaviour can be seen between them.

So light is like a particle in the VACUUM STATE, and shows the properties of a wave in the SOLID STATE.

Bizarre!

My interest in these things is not amusement alone. Wherever profound discoveries are made, profound new benefits to Mankind become possible.

If a metal is used for that photocell plate, that needs 1.5 volts, and infra-red shines upon it at 1.7 eV, electrons emerge at 0.2 volts.

If the light is at 2.5 eV, the “secondary electrons” will have 1 volt of charge. If the light is blue, at 3 volts, the elctrons will have 1.5 volts. It is a simple subtraction process. That is Einstein’s photoelectric effect.

So with a field plate charged to minus 0.2 volts, we can push back the “infra-red electrons”. With minus 1 volt on the plate, we can push back the yellow ones. With minus 1.5 volts, we can push back even the blue electrons.

Infra-red electrons? Yellow electrons? Blue electrons? In reality, these things are not their colours but their speeds. For each electron retains the energy that was left over after the Einstein Work-Function was subtracted from the photon.

This makes the colour sensitivity of a digital image-sensor PROGRAMMABLE. Instead of having red, green and blue filters on an image sensor, we can have NO FILTERS.

Digital techniques are used to analyse the colour of the image. The benefits are enormous.

For example, we live in a world of daylight and artificial light. Daylight is rich in blue, tungsten light is rich in red. When the colour balance of the device depends not upon chemical filters with their fixed colours, but upon software, the device can better adapt to the lighting.

You can read about this new concept in CCD image sensor design at http://www.wehner.org/electro/einstein/ . Seven related inventions are also described, to help the design along.

Our Bodies, Our Fears

I think this is worth reading it.

As they reach for the duct tape, Americans say theyre more anxious than ever. Scientific research about how our brains and bodies process fear can teach us how to live with long-term stress

By Geoffrey Cowley NEWSWEEK

Feb. 24 issue Anthony Lepre started feeling awful almost as soon as Tom Ridge put the nation on high alert for a terrorist attack last week. The normally well-adjusted Los Angeles chiropractor started tossing and turning instead of drifting off to sleep at night. He awoke in the middle of the night short of breath, his heart pounding. And the sound of his telephone seemed a sure sign of bad news.

Lets Go Nuts and Fight Cancer2003 Marilyn Diamond and Donald Schnell

America loves wars. Currently, we are so busy fighting the War on Terrorism that weve forgotten about the thirty-year long War on Cancer.

The War on Cancer was declared in 1971. It has cost taxpayers billions of dollars, and the only outcome is that cancer statistics have climbed from one out of eleven in the 1970s to one out of two in 2002.

From about 1 in 11 in 1970, to 1 in 7 in 1980, to 1 in 4 in 1990, to about 1 in 2.15 people in the U.S. who are expected to develop cancer in their lifetime in 2002. When will it reach 1 in 1 … if we let it? Don Weaver, To Love and Regenerate the Earth
In just one year, 1996, more Americans lost their lives from cancer than from war in the entire 20th century. Ten million had died by 1996 since the War on Cancer was first declared. One in two families will be presently touched by cancer, and one out of four babies will die of the disease.

This is a WAR we are certainly losing. This is a war we must wage.

In 1986, three professors at the prestigious Cornell University Medical Center were certain theyd discovered a natural weapon to fight cancer. They announced a naturally occurring remedy to stem the rising tide of the killer disease. Realizing that we were in the middle of an epidemic they announced their cure to the world.

The press conference never made front-page news.

We never heard about it.

We ask whole auditoriums of people if theyve ever heard this news.

Essentially no one raises a hand.

Do you know about this?

The Cornell doctors recommended that each of us should be sure to consume more selenium then the RDI suggests. Selenium is a naturally occurring mineral. It should be found in soil. It should be available from our foods.

The RDI is the recommended daily allowance. It is set at 70 mcg of selenium a day for both men and women.

But research claims we need not lower than 200 and as high as 600 mcg for the antioxidant effect and to help prevent cancer.

Ask the average doctor if you need to take a selenium supplement. The answer will probably be, No, just eat a balanced diet and youll be fine!

Typically, the average doctors twelve hours of nutrition in medical school hasnt kept pace with the thousands of studies in nutritional science. Unfortunately, many physicians are as overweight and under-exercised as their patients. Their rates of cancer are as high and in some cases even higher than the average population. Doctors need this information as much as the lay public.

The information is here.

The experts at Cornell University had proof that America could stem the rising tide of cancer, if each individual would consume about 600 mcg of selenium a day. Not 70 mcg, as the RDI erroneously suggests. Nearly 10 times the amount of the RDI!

This is potentially life saving information. One out of two Americans is now struck with cancer.

Now heres the problem. Is selenium in our soils? Is it in our foods?

Selenium occurs most abundantly in soil containing volcanic ash. The soil in northeastern, Pacific, southwestern, and extreme southeastern regions of the U.S. are all deficient in selenium. In Canada, the north central and eastern regions are deficient. Food grown in these areas will also be deficient in selenium.

In fact the average American diet contains about 33 mcg of selenium a day. This is about one half of what is minimally required and 1/20th of the Cornell recommendation for cancer prevention.

Selenium has been shown to improve the efficiency with which DNA can repair itself after being exposed to damaging substances. This means your body can fight poisons better when adequate amounts of the mineral are available.

Poisons? What kind of poisons?

The toxic residues of all the denatured, artificial foods you eat, pesticides, anti-biotics, bacterial contamination, vaccines, drugs, environmental pollutants. . .

The benefits are real!
A study conducted at the University of Arizona of 1,700 elderly Americans showed that those with low levels of selenium are more apt to have polyps in the gastrointestinal tract (33% compared to 9% in those with a high level of selenium).
The same study showed those taking 200 mcg of selenium over 4.5 years have 63% less prostate cancer, 58% fewer colorectal cancers, and 46% fewer lung cancers. Overall, there were 30% fewer new cancers, and 50% less overall death from cancer.
The Health Professional Follow-up Study found that those men with the highest intake of selenium (top 20 percent versus the bottom 20 percent) had a 51 percent lower risk of developing prostate cancer. In a clinical trial 1,312 people were given 200 mcg of selenium a day for four and a half years. They found a drop in prostate cancer of about 50 percent compared to controls not taking selenium.
Another study of 3,000 older Dutch people showed a reduction of lung cancer risk by 50% for those on selenium. And in Finland in a study of over 12,000 people, cancer deaths were highest among people with the lowest intake levels of selenium. Selenium creates selenium superoxide dismutase, your bodys most powerful antioxidant enzyme. Its known as SOD.
Remember this acronym. Its going to be BIG buzz for those who are savvy about health. Selenium has the ability to bond with heavy metals in your body. You take these metals in from air pollution, cigarette smoke, or from the food you eat. When selenium bonds to hazardous metals they can be safely excreted from your body. If they are not excreted, they may damage your organs and even cause cancer.
Isnt it time to listen to the scientists who are telling us adequate selenium intake can prevent some cancers? Why wait any longer to protect yourself and those you love?
The facts are in.
In areas where the soil is deficient in selenium, there is a higher incidence of cancer. Some cancers are caused by free radical oxidation, which selenium prevents. Selenium also encourages the production of macrophages, which “eat” foreign material that may cause cancer.
Can you see the importance of eating foods containing selenium? When foods are highly processed, the selenium is destroyed. Where can you find selenium?
Look no further than the naturally occurring, unprocessed Brazil nut. The average shelled Brazil nut that contains 12-25 mcg of selenium. (If you are willing to crack the shell yourself, the nut contains 100 mcg!) A one fourth cup serving of shelled Brazil nuts will provide your body with the selenium you need every day. The delectable Macadamia nut contains only slightly less selenium than its cousin from Brazil. Imagine that you can now enjoy Macadamias, knowing you are taking steps to prevent cancer!
Selenium is also found in whole grains, sunflower seeds, and garlic. But nuts are so fattening!

Really?

They are, if theyre roasted.

They are, if you eat them as a snack between a lunch of Beef Tacos and a dinner of pork chops.

But, if you eat them raw, and not as a snack, but as part of a seriously healthy meal, theyre not fattening at all. Theyre high in the healthy fatty acids your heart needs, and in plenty of other important minerals and fiber.

Whats a seriously healthy meal containing nuts?

Raw fruits or vegetables and raw nuts.

A really good way to have nuts is on a fresh vegetable plate, with cucumbers, red peppers, radishes, celery and other raw vegetables you enjoy.

Another way is to grind the nuts in a clean coffee grinder, and mix them into your fresh fruit salad.

Or have them on their own, while you slowly sip a large fresh vegetable juice or carrot juice.

Have healthy, raw, cancer-prevention meals like this, for breakfast, lunch or dinner at least once a day. Its the new Fit for Life, a way to eat, if you dont want cancer to soon strike everyone you know, including you.

Just do it! Go nuts and fight cancer.

HBV-DNA volume < 1104 cp/mL: 21/25 (84%)
HBV-DNA volume > 1104 cp/mL: 4/25 (16%)
2.Lasting response:
HBV-DNA volume < 1104 cp/mL: 23/25 (92%)
HBV-DNA volume > 1104 cp/mL: 2/25 (8%)
Among the results of lasting response, 16 blood serum samples are detected through fluorimetric quantitative determination PCR by the instruments of PE.USD, H-7700 in the second attached hospital of Guangzhou Medical College. The result is in accordance with that in Sichuan Clinical Testing Center. (8 cases among it < 1102 cp/mL). The testing range of this testing method is 1102 - 1107-8 cp/mL.
Conclusion
The reason for the repeatedly abnormal liver function of Chronic Hepatitis B (CHB) patients lies in the repeatedly duplication of HBV after infection, which leads to fibrosis of liver, then cirrhosis and liver cancer. It is commonly accepted that if CHB shows the transformation of HBeAg/Anti-HBe, HBV-DNA becoming negative, liver function returning to normal state, the disease is relieved. However, parts of patients with the transformation of HBeAg/Anti-HBe still remain positive in HBV-DNA and the pathological change in the liver continues. Because HBV-DNA occurs promoter mutation in the anterior C section (1896 necleoside G-A variation) or in the C section (1762 nucleoside T variation, 1764 G-A variation), HBeAg cannot come into being. Therefore, the HBeAg in the patients blood cannot be detected, while the virus can keep on duplicating and fixing itself. Through sequential assay of nucleic acid, it proves that promoter mutation appears in 30%-60% of HBeAg negative Chronic Hepatitis B (CHB) in the anterior C section or in the C section. In some provinces and cities of the People of China, the percentage of promoter mutation appears in HBeAg negative Chronic Hepatitis B (CHB) in the anterior C section or in the C section is from 17.6% to 78.9%. Eight out of the 25 cases of our observation go through the sequential assay of nucleic acid carried out by the Department of Microbiology of the University of Hong Kong. It all proves to have HBV-DNA mutation. The chronic mutational Hepatitis B is infectious and apt to cause cirrhosis and liver cancer since the present medicines of antivirus and immuno-modulator do not produce the expected therapeutic effects.

Vitalliver suppository is made up from a formula of Chinese herbs, including Ginseng, Deer Horn, Cordyceps, Radix Astragali, Frudctus Cnidii, Semen Cuscutae, etc. The formula is mainly for strengthening the body resistant and primarily for reinforcing Kidney Qi, which produces good therapeutic effects in treating chronic mutational Hepatitis B. The mechanism is probably that through the regulating of immune system, the duplication of virus is inhibited and meanwhile the liver is protected, so it can produce a lasting therapeutic effect. No adverse reaction and severe accident happens during clinical observation, so it is safe for using. Vitalliver is bringing hopes to the treatment of chronic mutational Hepatitis B.

* The second stage of clinical trial would be carrying out by the Microbiology Department of the University of Hong Kong and Chengdu University of Traditional Chinese Medicine.

Protect Yourself from SARS - Part 2Susun Weed

Worried about SARS? Keep your lungs healthy the Wise Woman Way
Wise women through the centuries have kept themselves and their families safe from contagious diseases. We looked at the lung strengthening properties of mullein and whole milk in part one of this article. In part three we will learn how to use herbs to strengthen the immune system. This part of the article focuses on what to do if prevention doesn’t work.

If we are actively dealing with infection, especially lung infections, these three powerful roots stand ready to help us: elecampane, echinacea, and poke.

Elecampane (Inula helenium) is a beautiful sunflower-like perennial found in wet pastures or easily cultivated in a sunny garden spot. The roots are dug in the fall after the plants are established (at least three years) and tinctured in 100 proof vodka for six weeks. Do not use elecampane in capsules.

I find elecampane root amazingly powerful in clearing all infections from the lungs. The usual dose is 10-15 drops several times a day, but I would increase the dose and take it as much as 6 times a day in an acute situation. I expect to see results from using elecampane within a day or less.

I would only take elecampane if I had an active infection. It has little protective value. To protect the lungs, use mullein and organic whole milk.

Echinacea (Echinacea augustifolia) is a well-known anti-infective. Like elecampane, it is not considered safe to take echinacea as a preventative. It is reserved for time when there is active infection.

Echinacea root tincture is a powerful ally to the white blood cells, helping them enormously in their efforts to counter bacterial infections. I have personally seen it clear infections that even triple antibiotic therapies had left untouched, including bacterial pneumonia, bronchitis, sinus infections, strep throat, mastitis, and blood poisoning. I have had no occasion to work with someone with SARS, but I have no doubt but that echinacea would be helpful. I have interfaced echinacea with antibacterial drugs and antibiotics with excellent results. Echinacea also works marvelously well in combination with elecampane root or with poke root. I have never used the three of them together. A dose of echinacea root tincture is 1 drop for every 2 pounds of body weight. I take it as frequently as every hour or two in the acute phase of an infection, and increase the time between doses slowly until they are eight hours apart.

Because I use such a large dose of echinacea root tincture, I get spectacular results. But to be able to use so much, you need to have a lot of the tincture on hand. It is expensive to buy, running $8-10 per ounce. Large bottles of 4-8 ounces bring the price down to $6-8 an ounce. But you can make your own for $1-2 dollars an ounce.

To make a quart of echinacea root tincture:

Buy 4 ounces of dried Echinacea augustifolia root. Be sure to get this kind. Put it in a quart jar and fill the jar to the top with 100 proof vodka. Be sure to get this proof even though it is more expensive than regular vodka. Cap tightly and label. Shake daily for the first week, then weekly for at least eight weeks. I like to let mine sit for a year before I use it, but you can use it after six weeks if necessary.

Do not use echinacea in capsules.

Poke (Phytolacca americana) is also a beautiful perennial. The root tincture is powerful to the point of being considered poisonous.

I always travel with a bottle of poke root tincture. I think of it as insurance - on the off chance that I may be exposed in my travels to some new and potentially deadly bug. Had I been in Beijing when SARS broke out, I would have taken it.

I would not take poke as a precaution; it is far too strong to be used that way. Only if I knew that I was likely to have been exposed to the pathogen would I use it (one drop twice a day; if I felt symptoms, I would increase to four times a day or more, as seemed reasonable at the time). You may find it hard to buy poke root tincture. (Red Moon Herbs usually has it available.) It is rightly feared. But the plant is widespread and easy to recognize with its magenta stem and racemes of white flowers and dark purple berries, so you can make your own if you live where it grows.

I dig only one poke root every decade or so, for the dose I use is minuscule. I choose a root that is at least three years old (the standard for digging any perennial root), rinse the soil from it, chop it coarsely, and tincture it for a minimum of six weeks in 100 proof vodka. (No, 80 proof won’t work. And, yes, it must be a fresh root, as drying seems to remove the active properties.)

When I need poke root tincture to kick my immune system into high gear, I take a dose of one drop - yes, only one drop - once or twice a day. Poke root tincture contains compounds that can harm the kidneys if it is taken continuously. I reserve its use for emergencies and do not consider it especially helpful to the immune system.

Isn’t it well named? It pokes the immune system and speeds up pokey lymphatic drainage. I have known a single drop to reverse chronic infections that have simmered for years, getting more and more resistant to drugs. Of course, poke root tincture, is used by those with cancer, sometimes with astonishing results. (See Breast Cancer? Breast Health! the Wise Woman Way for lots more information on using poke to counter cancer.)

For severe infections, such as SARS, the dose of poke root tincture may be larger, but build up gradually over a period of days. In extreme situations, an individual may be able to use doses of 15 drops a day. I know of some instances where doses of 30 drops a day were used, but this usually creates unwelcome side effects.

Never use poke root in water and never take capsules of poke root. You could be poisoned.

I keep all three of these strong roots in my medicine cupboard. I feel safe and reassured knowing that I am ready to counter infection and boost my immune system at a moment’s notice.

Herbs may seem insignificant in the face of the troubles in our nation and in the world, but using green allies to maintain and regain health is a big step toward healthy independence and - I believe - a step toward peace. Instead of making war on weeds like poke, I love them. Instead of making war on nature, I take her as a guide. Instead of making war on myself when I have an injury or illness, a problem or a pain, I nourish myself toward ever greater health, ever greater peace.

Green blessings surround us. My green allies uplift my heart and bring me joy even in trying and uncertain times, whether resisting or countering infection, or strengthening the immune system, which we will do in part three.

Green Blessings!

Protect Yourself from SARS - Part 3Susun Weed

Worried about SARS? Keep your lungs healthy the Wise Woman Way!
It is always wise to cultivate health and support your immune system. And now, with the threat of SARS, and who knows what else, it is more important than ever. The first two parts of this series looked at strengthening the lungs and fending off infection. The third component of maintaining and regaining health is to nourish the immune system.

A vital immune system is my first defense against the constant barrage of disease-causing bacteria, viruses and other pathogens created by Mother Nature. A vital immune system is my first defense again the ever-present possibility of cancerous cells. A vital immune system is everyones first defense against SARS too.

I keep my immune system supple and strong the easy, effective Wise Woman Way: with nourishing herbal infusions and immune-strengthening soups.

Nourishing herbal infusions are the basis of great nourishment - for the immune system, the hormonal system, and the nervous system too.

To make a nourishing herbal infusion:

Choose one herb: nettle, oatstraw, red clover, comfrey leaf, linden flowers, violet leaf, or mullein leaf. You may add a little mint or other seasoning herb, but use only one of the main ones at a time. Place one full ounce, by weight, of any one herb in a quart jar. A canning jar is best. Fill the jar to the top with boiling water. Stir the herb into the water and add more water until the jar is really full. Screw on a tight lid and let it steep for four hours or overnight. Strain the liquid out and refrigerate what you don’t drink.

I drink nourishing herbal infusions over ice, heated up with honey and milk, mixed with other beverages. Enjoy.

Nourishing herbal infusions are full of antioxidant vitamins, minerals, proteins, phytoestrogens, and hundreds of protective phytochemicals. I drink two to four cups of infusion daily, rotating through the different herbs, but mostly nettle, oatstraw, red clover, and comfrey. One of my apprentices - who has been drinking nourishing infusions for several years now - was told by her doctor that she had the healthiest blood he’d ever seen.

For more information on infusions, please visit http://www.susunweed.com.

Immune strengthening soups rely on a long steeping time to extract minerals and active phytochemicals. Recent nutrition research has revealed that, contrary to common claims, antioxidant vitamins are increased by cooking. In fact many vegetables have twice as many nutrients cooked as raw.

To make an immune strengthening soup:

Chop at least half an onion per person and saut in lots of olive oil until translucent. Add at least two cloves of garlic, sliced or chopped, per person and saut. Add chopped vegetables of the season, a lot of seaweed, some mushrooms, tonic roots, seasoning herbs, sea salt and vegetable broth. Bring it all to a boil and simmer for an hour. Let the immune strengthening soup mellow in a cool place overnight. Serve it the next day, heated up, with freshly-baked bread and organic raw milk cheese.

Seaweeds help remove radiation from body tissues (heavy metals too). I like heavy seaweeds like kombu and wakame in soups. But sea palm fronds, nereocystis kelp, hijiki, and alaria are food too; they all taste different.

All mushrooms strengthen the immune system and counter cancer. I frequently use dried shitake as they are available and inexpensive at Chinese grocery stores. Reishii, maitake, and other medicinal mushrooms are delicious additions to immune strengthening soups, as are the more common dried porcinni, and fresh portobellos.

Tonic roots help our livers, lymph, and kidneys work well, protecting us from infection. I use one or more, fresh or dried, depending on what I have available: Siberian ginseng, astragalus, burdock, dandelion, chicory, yellow dock, American ginseng. I often put these tough roots into a jelly bag and drop that into the soup for I can fish it out before serving. About one ounce per gallon of broth used for your soup is a nice amount.

Seasoning herbs from the mint family - rosemary, thyme, oregano, basil, marjoram, and sage - are loaded with antioxidants. I don’t just season the soup with them; I add them by the handful.

There are recipes for several immune strengthening soups in my book Breast Cancer? Breast Health! The Wise Woman Way.

Prevention doesn’t always work, of course. That’s why part two of this article discussed herbs that counter infection. Maintaining health the Wise Woman Way includes being prepared to deal with infection as well as staying healthy on a daily basis. With nourishing herbal infusions, immune strengthening soups, and the help of some strong roots, that’s simple and fun.

Green Blessings to you.

Fish oil may reduce the risk of heart attack and improve overall heart health. Researchers at the Vet. Affairs Medical Center report that dha and epa, major components of fish oil, offer substantial protection against coronary heart disease.
Their study involved over 6,000 middle-aged men.
Researchers working at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center state that DPA and DHA, primary components of fish oil, provide substantial protection against coronary heart disease. This study involved more tha six thousand middle-aged men who had samples of their blood taken between 1973 and 1976. During the next seven years, 94 of these men had a heart attack or died suddenly due to heart disease. The 94 men were matched with 94 healthy men and the fatty acid profile of their blood samples compared. The researchers discovered that the 94 men with heart disease tended to have a higher serum level of the saturated fatty acid palmitic acid and stated that a high level of this acid incre
